CoPro Project: development of a first standardized food supplement from Cordyceps<\/h2>\n

Cordycepin<\/strong> is a bioactive compound of fungal origin that exhibits a range of biological activities and has recently been the focus of intensive scientific research.<\/p>\n

In most existing dietary supplements, the content of cordycepin and other adenosine analogs is either unknown or highly variable, ranging from 0.03 mg\/g to slightly over 1.5 mg\/g.<\/p>\n

After 86 cultivation\/extraction experiments and more than 2100 samples tested, a new standardized<\/strong> food supplement named Cordyvit\u00aeK Pro<\/strong>\u00a0was developed containing concentrations of cordycepin higher than 10 mg\/g.<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

In this study, approximately 65 wild and commercial Cordyceps strains were examined for their cordycepin and adenosine content. Cultivation parameters were optimized to prevent strain degeneration and ensure high-quality fruiting bodies. The optimization included substrate type, moisture content and particle size, fill level and substrate weight, cultivation vessel volume and type, type and size of ventilation filters, temperature and relative humidity, as well as the light regime and intensity during mycelial growth and fruiting body formation.<\/p>\n
